NEWS ROUNDUP — Manhattan acquires Peruvian ground

Manhattan Minerals (MAN-T) is acquiring a 100,100-ha land package in northern Peru.

The new concessions, known collectively as the Lacones project, adjoin the Tambo Grande massive sulphide project to the south and, partially, to the east and west.

Manhattan acquired the Lancones through its wholly owned Peruvian subsidiary, Compania Minera Manhattan.

The concessions cover several gravity highs that are, in many cases, coincidental with magnetic highs. “The geophysical response is identical to the magnetic-gravity work done over the Tambo Grande project and appears to be a continuing trend from the Tambo concessions,” Manhattan says.

Meanwhile, the junior has applied to the government for exploration and development rights to Tambo Grande. The 10,000-ha property hosts a near-surface, Kuroko-type, massive sulphide deposit with an indicated resource of 42.3 million tonnes grading 2.06% copper, 1.47% zinc and 37.6 grams silver per tonne.

Several targets on the property have yet to be drill-tested.
