Supply and demand and the international copper market will be discussed at the conference of the American Copper Council, to be held June 19-21 in Montreal, Que.
Scheduled speakers include: Simon Hunt, chairman of Hunt Strategic Services, who will explain China’s role as a producer and consumer; John Hampton, vice-president of Noranda Metallurgy, who will discuss North American supply and demand; Monica Chitnis, vice-president of base metals for J.P. Morgan, who will address the impact of copper futures in a global market; and David Cammarota of the U.S. Department of Commerce, who will deliver an update on the Basel Trade Treaty.
Delegates will visit three copper facilities in Quebec: Alcatel Canada Wire’s Rod mill; Noranda’s CCR refinery; and the Wolverine Copper Tube plant.
