Takla extends Bolivian gold program

Preliminary exploration work on the Orko Pina project in Bolivia has prompted Takla Star Resources (ASE) to plan additional work.

Exploration work outlined a 2.2-sq.-km soil, stream sediment, alluvial and rock geochemical gold anomaly. The anomaly is associated with an argillic-sericitic and propylitic, hydrothermally altered, dacite dome.

Sampling of dacite outcrops returned up to 1.9 grams gold per tonne, but much of the dome is covered by overburden. The sampling also outlined a 500-by-600-metre gold soil geochemical anomaly, averaging 1 gram gold on the west flank of the dacite dome.

Further work on the dacite target will include surface mapping, trenching, sampling and induced-polarization surveys.

Takla believes the project is geologically similar to the huge Kori Kollo mine, 220 km to the east, where Battle Mountain Gold is producing more than 9,000 kg of gold per year.
