Three gold structures and other targets at the Diomines and Diomines Extension properties in northwestern Quebec were tested during the 1995 winter drill campaign.
GeoNova Explorations (ME) reports that 20 holes representing 2,600 metres were drilled at the properties situated 30 km north-northeast of Lebel-sur-Quevillon.
At Diomines, holes DI-02 and DI-07, drilled 200 metres west of the Main zone, returned 5.55 grams gold per tonne over 1.15 metres and 1.91 grams over 1.2 metres, respectively. At the Diomines Extension, east of Cameron Lake, the Colonel Moutarde showing (an exposed quartz vein) was tested with 8 holes. The company says assays are generally sub-economic but have been as high as 6.82 grams over 0.7 metres.
Additional surface work and drilling are planned.
