Metallurgical testing on material from the Mina Justa project in Peru broadly confirmed the assumptions in a May scoping study, says project operator Chariot Resources (CHD-T).
composite samples from the main sulphide body at Mina Justa yielded copper concentrates ranging from 29.7% to 50.9% copper content, with significantly better gold and silver recoveries than had been assumed in the scoping study. Copper recoveries were slightly lower than the study’s assumptions.
Chalcopyrite mineralization from Justa showed a copper recovery of 88% and a 90% recovery of the two precious metals. The concentrate graded 29.7% copper. The scoping study had assumed that chalcopyritic material would yield about 93% of its copper.
Mineralization from a bornite-chalcopyrite zone yielded 92.7% of its copper, with abut 90% recovery for gold and silver. The concentrate graded 39.6% copper. Material from a transition zone had recoveries of 86.6% of copper and over 90% of gold and silver, with a concentrate grading 50.9% copper.
Further metallurgical work is planned, to form part of a final feasibility study on the project.
