Vancouver – A field program operated by Eagle Plains Resources (EPL-V) is evaluating zinc-lead deposits and showings within a belt of carbonate rocks in the Mackenzie Mountains southwest of Norman Wells, N.W.T.
The land package covers 85 zinc-lead showings, including some with known resources of several million tonnes that are not yet compliant with National Instrument 43-101 reporting standards.
Eagle Plains has assembled a team of experts in carbonate-hosted zinc-lead deposits to assess the potential of the known showings and the regional belt, including those at Gayna River and the Twitya River.
The company views its newly acquired land package as prospective for deposits similar to those found within the Pine Point, Polaris and Nanisivik districts of the Canadian North.
The team will test the economic potential of the showings and district through field and laboratory work. The most prospective areas and targets will be further explored in field programs to better determine the geological controls of the mineralizing systems.
Eagle Plains hold a large portfolio of exploration properties, mostly in British Columbia and Canada’s northern territories.
