Vancouver – Ongoing exploration by Ross River Minerals (RRM-V) has expanded several targets on its wholly-owned El Pulpo property. The property comprises 200 square km in Sinaloa State in Mexico and had five main targets outlined from previous work.
At the Papaya target, four northwest trending structures from 700 metres to 3.5 km long were identified from geophysics. Resistivity and coincident chargeability anomalies are associated with with known gold mineralization of up to 144.35 grams gold per tonne. Three of the anomalies, including the main Papaya vein zone, are associated with gold-silver-copper-tellurium and bismuth-in-soil anomalies.
Three chargeability anomalies were identified on the La Trucha target and coincide with resistivity anomalies and known outcrops of quartz tourmaline veining with values up to 39.81 grams gold, 1,614.2 grams silver and 2.6% copper. The extent of the geophysical anomalies on the La Trucha, over known mineralization with values averaging 8.64 g/t gold, 357.6 g/t silver and 1.12% copper, suggest a larger target.
At the La Langosta target the IP and soil geochemistry surveys show an elliptical chargeability anomaly ring extends over an area 2,100 metres by 1,000 metres. This anomaly coincides with porphyry style mineralization within the La Langosta target. Two new fairly large outcrops containing copper sulphides and oxides were found about 500 metres south of El Bagre which graded up to 4.18% copper.
The IP geophysical recently commenced on the Cerro Colorado grid. Two large gold-silver-copper-in-soil anomalies were outline. The largest (200 to 300 metres) extends northeasterly and coincides with known gold, silver and copper mineralization. The second anomaly is new and is 100 to 250 metres in width and 1,100 metres long and runs northwesterly.
Six trenches up to 2 metres deep and between 8 and 20 metres long were hand dug in an east west direction at La Cetolla. Five of the trenches exposed disseminated and stockwork copper mineralization comprising chalcopyrite and copper-oxides, for which assays are pending. Also, a new area of stockwork copper mineralization was discovered 2.2 km southeast of the La Cetolla porphyry copper-gold target. Exploration work is continuing in this area.
The company plans to drill once the current trenching on the Papaya and La Trucha targets is completed.
