Drilling is ongoing, but Band-Ore Resources (BAN-T) has received gold results from 14 holes, drilled in 2004, on its Thorne property in Timmins, Ontario.
Drill holes tested various anomalous zones. Eight holes concentrated on an area 200 metres southeast of the Golden River West zone and to the west of the “No. 14 Zone”. Highlights from these holes included 3.9 metres grading 10.14 grams gold per tonne, including a 2.9 metre interval grading 11.95 grams per tonne; and 11.5 metres grading 2.18 grams gold per tonne, including an interval grading 4.69 grams per tonne over 4.5 metres and one of 9.53 grams per tonne over 1.5 metres. Apart from these assays, holes intersected mineralization ranging from 0.25 grams gold per tonne to 6.33 grams gold per tonne over widths ranging from 1 to 23 metres.
Two holes tested the Red Porphyry zone, a sericite-hematite-pyrite-altered porphyry 1 km north of the Golden River West zone; a 7.5-metre intercept graded 1.3 grams gold per tonne, including an intersection grading 5.3 grams gold per tonne over 1.5 metres.
The most recent estimated gold resource for the property was calculated in 1998; comprised of thirteen separate zones, the Golden River deformation zone was estimated to contain 4 million tonnes grading 3 grams gold per tonne, or 400,000 contained ounces.
Gold is primarily associated with fault structures and sericite-carbonate-altered zones in sediments, as well as with pyrite-arsenopyrite mineralization in quartz feldspar porphyries.
