Trading Summary – TSX Venture (January 23, 2004)

Vancouver — Canada’s junior exchange lost some ground with the price of bullion. Advancing stocks lost to declining stocks 443-to-451 and the S&P-TSX Venture Exchange composite index closed at 1814.47, down 0.94 of a point, or 0.05% with 92 million shares traded.

Spider Resources closed the day flat at 16.5 with 1.3 million shares traded. The junior holds a stake in the McFauld’s Lake property in the James Bay Lowlands of northeastern Ontario. Diagem International Resource bought KWG Resources’ 8% stake in property by agreeing to spend $2 million on exploration. Drilling on the project resumed last July to follow up on encouraging sulphide mineralization originally cut by De Beers in 2002. The diamond explorer inadvertently hit base metal mineralization while drill-testing 13 diamond targets at the Spider 3 project.

Loosing some of yesterday’s gains, Anooraq Resources closed at $3.47, down 15 with 1.12 million shares traded. In return for 91.2 million shares plus around $1.7 million in cash, Anooraq plans to pick up Pelawan’s rights to a 50% participation interest in the Ga-Phasha platinum group metals project on the Eastern Limb of the Bushve`d complex.

Texas T Resources closed at 63, down a penny with 1.19 million shares traded. The Alberta-based company is in the process of completing a restructure plan including a share consolidation, name change and debt settlement, as well as shifting its operational focus to the Canadian mineral sector. The junior recently entered into option agreements with two mineral exploration properties located in Northern Quebec, and is actively seeking adequate financing to work on these properties in 2004.

China Diamond tacked on 5.5 and closed at 44 with 995,730 shares traded. The company, which changed its name from Pan Asia Mining, has a controlling interest in a Sino-Foreign joint venture company in the Shandong Province in the People’s Republic of China. The Joint Venture Company owns and operates the 701 Changma Diamond Mine.
