DESCRIPTION:American Exploration & Mining Association  (formerly known as the Northwest Mining Association until 2013) is a 122 year old\, 1\,900 member\, non-profit\, non-partisan trade association based\, in Spokane\, Washington. AEMA members reside in 42 states and are actively involved in prospecting\, exploring\, mining\, and reclamation closure activities on USFS administered lands\, especially in the West. Our diverse membership includes every facet of the mining industry including geology\, exploration\, mining\, engineering\, equipment manufacturing\, technical services\, and sales of equipment and supplies. AEMA’s broad membership represents a true cross-section of the American mining community from small miners and exploration geologists to both junior and large mining companies. More than 90% of our members are small businesses or work for small businesses. Most of our members are individual citizens.

DESCRIPTION:Mineral processing can involve four general types of unit operation:\n•	Comminution\n•	Sizing & Classification\n•	Concentration\n•	Dewatering\nKnowing the fundamental principles\, conventions and terminology in mineral processing\, and having broad overview of current technical and operating issues and circuit design considerations are essential for engineers\, technicians\, operators\, support staff such as accountants\, brokers\, investors and others working in the mineral processing industry.\nThe course covers unit operations in mineral processing including comminution\, physical separation\, flotation\, classification and dewatering.\nUpon completion of this course the participants are able to\n•	Identify various unit operations in mineral processing.\n•	Understand the step used for the processing of various minerals.\n•	Describe and explain commonly occurring processes for mineral beneficiation.\n•	Analyze reasons for selection of processes based on raw material properties.\n•	Have knowledge of process conditions to suggest process selections for hypothetical raw materials.
